Step into the Sun with Toni Pons Espadrilles

One of the best things about warm weather is the ability to wear more unique clothing that’s not limited to the elements – especially when it comes to footwear. Lately, it seems that wedges and platforms have been making a comeback, and Toni Pons espadrilles are right on trend. I have owned a number of different kinds of sandals, but never a pair of espadrilles – so, I decided to try a pair and see how they fared from style to comfort.

I chose the Toni Pons’ Triton style in Platinum because it had some shine and texture, yet still maintained a relaxed look because of the braided jute wedge (a natural fibrous material similar to burlap).

Braided JuteI figured the shine coupled with the jute wedge would allow for versatility since it could be worn with jeans, dressy shorts or even a skirt.

One of the great things about Toni Pons is that you can find styles that are bright and colourful, or styles that are relaxed and simple. Whatever your taste is, there’s definitely a pair of Toni Pons that will work for your style.

When I put on my pair of Tritons, I was immediately struck by how comfortable they were. I had suspected the wedge would be a hard platform, but it was cushy and absorbed my foot right away. The natural rubber wedge has a height of 4cm, combined with the 2cm overall platform, giving the heel a total height of 6cm. I don’t often wear heels, but I had no issue with stability or walking in the Triton, whatsoever. This espadrille actually had me pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was.

The sandal kept my foot snuggly in place as it has an elastic band that wraps around the ankle. In fact, I could barely feel it. In general, these espadrilles really felt as though they were one with my feet and were super comfy right from the very beginning.

After wearing the Tritons around at the office and outside along the water, I decided to look at more styles online. I happened to find a great video that talks about the history behind Toni Pons and actually shows how the espadrilles are stitched by hand. This lead me to be even more enamored with the sandals in terms of the detail, attention and time that has gone into every single pair:

The Toni Pons Triton style is a part of the Toni Pons Origens collection, which Becker Shoes carries along with a couple of select styles from the Essencial and Toni collections. To shop Toni Pons, visit: www.beckershoes.com/shop/119_toni-pons and let us know what you think!
